To find journal articles, go to the Library databases. These may also be referred to as scholarly resources or peer-reviewed publications. This list of databases is available at the link below:

There are over 100 databases, so look at the description to find the best match. Broadly, these will contain scans of articles that were originally available in print form (though there are some digital exclusive journals as well). Some will have been published over a century ago while many more were published just this year. In general, you will want to be looking for articles from the past decade or so.
A handy resource to familiarize yourself with to discover a wide range of resources on a topic. In addition to journal articles, it will also provide access to videos, book chapters, and dissertations. Note that while it has less total articles than other resources, that they will be more focused than they will be in the multidisciplinary databases.

The "Search All Books and Databases" link will allow you to search all the databases at once. However, keep in mind that because it will be a lot of information at once, that it's best to practice with the other databases first, to then hone in on a search string of 5 or more words to come up with more focused results
This is one of the main resources for finding articles on English topics. Search results will include journal articles as well as book chapters. It is different than most databases as it will not directly indicate if an article is peer-reviewed, so you many need to do further research on the journal to make this determination. Please consult a reference librarian for strategies on assessing if a JSTOR article is scholarly/peer-reviewed.

It may also be helpful to check out some newspaper resources to find more information about a particular performance, or find more in depth information in newspapers like the New York Times.
The online library catalog will let you search for books on the Library stacks. More importantly, you will be able to find ebooks on English topics, include anthology volumes with chapters that will function similarly to research articles.
